All-In-One Fret Polishing and String Cleaner System

The crisp, bell-like tone of new strings is sadly, for many of us, way too short. Often the lack of proper string cleaning procedures, excessive humidity, or naturally occurring acidic sweat, all of which cause the alloys used in string manufacturing to oxidize. This results in a "plonk" instead of a "zing".

Many players also have unrealistic expectations of how long a string should last. Most string manufacturers will tell you that strings really only sound their best for 4 to 10 hours of playing. However this opposite of their ad claims. This means that if you play a lot, you may be changing your strings every week or every day depending on your tonal preferences. At $7-$10 a set of strings this could get expensive.

WHICH INSTRUMENTS CAN IT BE USED ON?

  • Guitars – Bass, Electric, Acoustic and Classical
  • Banjos, Mandolins and Ukuleles
  • Any Fretted or String Instrument
  • Fret maintenance keeps Frets in top playing condition.

WHAT ABOUT REHYDRATING THE FRET BOARD?

Only on rosewood or dark wood type fingerboards. Maple boards tend to be sealed to stop dirt; hence they have a lacquer coating. Read more on Fret board cleaning.

DOES IT WEAR THE FRETS DOWN?

No, quite the opposite, fret wear is caused by corroded strings with dirt trapped underneath, this combo acts like micro sandpaper. Cleaning out the corrosive dirt reduces damage caused by friction, apart from being a lot nicer to play; the frets and strings are protected against future wear.
